Eminem Shows He's The Real Slim Shady In 'SNL' Promo:

Eminem will make his return to "Saturday Night Live" this weekend as musical guest. Ahead of his appearance, the Detroit rapper stars alongside host Kerry Washington in a couple promos for Saturday's episode. Em plays it serious and doesn't say much except for "I love cupcakes." Still, we can't help but laugh. (Rap-Up).

Eminem will make his sixth trip to Studio 8H as musical guest on "Saturday Night Live" on Nov. 2, NBC announced on Wednesday. The Detroit rapper's performance will hype his eighth studio album, "The Marshall Mathers LP 2," out Nov. 5, and viewers should expect to hear first single "Berzerk," which peaked at No. 1 on the Rap Songs chart. On Monday he released another track off the album, the six-minute "Rap God." Eminem has performed on the show in 1999, 2000, 2002, 2004 and most recent in 2010, when he paired up Lil Wayne. Kerry Washington found herself in the middle of Saturday Night Live's new-cast kerfuffle this morning when the NBC late-night show announced it had booked her to make her guest-hosting debut on November 2. While SNL first approached ABC's Scandal star last season, and booked her weeks ago, the timing of SNL's announcement could not have been worse, putting her at the epicenter of the latest media storm over SNL's performers. In case you were off the grid yesterday, SNL cast member Kenan Thompson made some news when he told TV Guide that, yes, it's the show's sixth consecutive year without a black female cast member because, turns out, there are just no black female comics out there who are qualified for the gig. "It's just a tough part of the business," Thompson said. (Deadline).

After unveiling "New Slaves" on Friday night in "the most Kanye way possible," Kanye West took to the Saturday Night Live stage and did it again, this time live and in the flesh. The rapper's new album has been described as "dark"; on SNL, he yelled while dodging in and out of dark shadows ("Black Skinhead"), then delivered an equally intense rendition of "New Slaves" in front of a projection of his face in extreme close-up. "Dark" seems accurate so far. (Slate)

Dr. Jose Chameleon for battle of Titans
1377353_173869816142421_990325932_n.jpgYou are yet to see more music battles at this rate. As the Goodlyfe Crew and Bebe Cool are yet to sort themselves in the Battle of the Champions on Dec 6, Bebe Cool will be traveling to Zimbabwe tomorrow for a music battle with Nigeria's D'Banj at this years' beer festival that will take place on Oct. 26, 2013. He will travel with his Gagamel band.

Chameleone who is watching that move closely has also announced that he will be battling West Africa's Davido on 20 December, 2013 in what he's calling the 'Battle of the Titans'. Davido is known for hits like 'Skelewu'.

Communicating about this development, the 'Tubonge' singer said: "Battle of the Titans W. Africa Davido VS. Chameleone E. Africa music Clash 20th Dec Kampala,"

Bebe Cool's camp was quick to belittle the move saying that they set the trend and now Chameleone's camp is following in their footsteps. "Chameleone is having sleepless nights from the time he learnt of Bebe Cool battling with D'Banj in the 'Battle of Africa," one wrote.

The rivalry between musicians has been on and it's not about to stop. It's something they use to garner publicity though one has to be careful how they play their cards not to end up being remembered less for their music and more for attacking fellow artistes.

Uganda: Bobi Wine Breathes New Life Into Comedy

The lack of fresh rib crackers has turned comedians into recyclers, with fights in different comedy outfits, leading to breakups. Today, different spots have comedy nights with comedians copying and pasting the same jokes. To stay afloat, one has to think outside the box and that's how, The Krackers, conceived the idea of "music meeting comedy" in what they call the 'Kings of Comedy' show.

And so far, the show, which happens every last Wednesday and Friday of the month at Theatre La Bonita, is working. Yes, they are still in business judging by the crowd they pulled last Wednesday night.

And does it matter whether they came to watch singer Bobi Wine or the comedians? What mattered was that Theatre La Bonita was full to capacity. A live band backed up Bobi Wine who performed most of his popular songs while taking breaks to crack a joke or two.

Of course most of the jokes were aimed at his nemesis, Bebe Cool. While singing his popular hit Mr Money, he threw jibes at Bebe for using the money from President Museveni to buy a Hummer instead of using it to treat his leg after he was shot.

Salvador Idringi was the night's MC, coming on stage to crack a joke or two before calling the next performer. He talked about his recent trip to Nigeria and how he had turned planes into commuter taxis.

Following in Bobi's shoes, he said Dolibondo would soon board a plane -from Aero beach. There were performances from other comedians like Don Kazo, Afande Kelekele, Bright, Omara and Alex Muhangi.

Kelekele was fully clad in a police uniform. Don Kazo's style is like MC Kapale's, all about sex and delivered in a casual and indigenous Luganda style. Obviously not for people under 18, but show goers love those kinds of jokes and that's why they are a mainstay at every comedy show.
